Power projects that are seen increasingly complicated by the “simultaneous” entry of mining claims is what worries the Chilean Association for Renewable Energies (Pavement) at present, at times that the government gives the Energy Agenda.

“Today both projects Non Conventional Renewable Energy as the development of the transmission lines are often inscribed with mining claims, which are made almost simultaneously, and pose a threat or risk to the construction of the lines or projects; therefore funding today is difficult”, said the president of Pavement, Alfredo Soler.

He emphasized that “it is an obviously speculative element that affects the development of the industry”, because in his view it is “just for the purpose of impeding the development of a power project”.

In turn, the executive said on several occasions, when a power project is to be built where a mineral resource exists “cannot be done or must be set in accordance with the mining company”.
