Talinay Eolic Park to contribute with 1,000 MW to SIC system for 2020
First stage of Talinay I project would be completed in December. The project considers installation of 45 air generators to inject 90 MW to the system

Entrance of Talinay II Project to environmental evaluation at the same time Talinay I is being built has generated expectations in energy market because the eolic park will provide 1,000 MW of installed power for 2020. In accordance with Daniel Munzenmayer, legal representative, there are many interested parties in taking part of the project and subscribing Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for energy purchasing, especially in mining industry sector in the Third Region of country.

Talinay II considers a US$1,200 million investment and adding 500 MW to Talinay; however, due to infrastructure problems in transmission trunk, Its construction is only scheduled for mid or end of 2016.

“Today the 220 KV line of SIC goes through our land but it is rather limited and for that reason we are expecting the expansion or reinforcement of the line to inject more energy; however some inconveniences could arise when adding the third stage of Talinay I that would complete the first 500 MW of installed capacity in the eolic park. On this respect the executive indicates that Talinay II is expected to start injecting energy from 2017 to be working at full capacity in 2020. On a different note, Talinay I, which environmental approval was granted in 2009, is on the verge to complete construction of its first stage. Munzenmayer indicates next stage of this project will start being constructed by the end of 2013 by injecting 180 MW and third stage is scheduled for the end of 2014.
