That is the projection that as of the Mining Minister Hernan de Solminihac, remains despite the vagaries of the industry.

From this figure, 83% are maintainers and operators, 10% supervisors, and 7% for professionals, said the secretary of state.

The head of Mining, together with the Dean of Engineering at the Catholic University (CU), Juan Carlos de la Llera, and the academic of mining of this university, Gustavo Lagos, spoke this morning on the mining landscape which is graduate students will be faced at the end of the supercycle of copper, under UC Mining Week 2013.

“Mining accounts for about 3% of the national labor force. However, it is estimated that for every direct job in mining, three are generated in an indirect way, “said Solminihac.

About the fluctuations recorded in the price of copper, the secretary of state is confident in the mining leadership of the country and its consolidation as a destination for mining investment. Also on the auspicious setting for professional development, with wages and working standards higher than average labor market.
