Escondida copper output up 16.9% and Codelco reduced in 0.3%

The increase is explained for the best performance of the mill and concentrator that compensate for lower ore grades.

Escondida’s production reached 1.2 million tons in fiscal year 2014, according to BHP Billiton said in its operational review of the period from July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.

This involved a 2% increase over fiscal year 2013 and is due to better performance of the mill and concentrator that offsets lower ore grades. For the period of 2015 should produce 1.27 million tons.

Its OGP project should be completed in June 2015 and carries an advance of 79%, according to the report. Also, note that the global companies produced 1.7 million tons of copper.
