Compañía Minera San Andrés plans to invest US $ 4,5 million

The company has more than 40 years operating in Copiapó, Atacama Region, dedicated to mining copper exploitation.

The general manager of the Compañía Explotadora de Minas San Andrés, of domestic capitals, Mauricio Meyer, said they are betting on growth and thus have investment plans in the medium term to double its current production which is 1,000 tons.

“We aim to grow well and so we have investment plans in the medium term, so we’re looking at alternatives with funds from domestic and foreign investments. While the plan it is not yet defined, we estimate an investment of $ 4.5 billion over the next 24 months”, he said.

The company has more than 40 years operating in Copiapó, Atacama Region, dedicated to mining copper exploitation. “We have two mines, which are Pensamiento and Soplona, both are underground ore mined and processed in the concentrator plant called Elisa de Gordos,” said the executive.

The annual production of the mine is 5000 tons of concentrate, equivalent to 1,000 tons of fine copper. However, Meyer said, is that last year amounted to only 800 tons.
