New financing opportunities for small and medium mining companies in Chile could materialize after the signing of an agreement between the Santiago Stock Exchange and a subsidiary of the Toronto Stock Exchange, which seeks precisely to facilitate access to venture capital agreement.-

The agreement between the two stock exchange on Monday March 3rd in Toronto, Canada was completed, a city that focuses this week intensive mining activity to host a new version of the annual convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC, by its acronym in English).-
Taking advantage of the presence of officials and senior representatives of the mining sector of Chile in Toronto, the agreement’s signature was developed with the participation of a part of the national delegation led by Mining Minister Hernan de Solminihac.

The agreement, signed by the Santiago Stock Exchange (BCS) and the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV), a subsidiary of the Toronto Stock Exchange (TMX Group Limited), will allow to create a new segment of venture capital in the Santiago Stock Exchange that be oriented in a first phase, to small and medium enterprises in the mining sector, but then it could also be extended to other industries.

“With this agreement, the junior mining exploration companies may be registered simultaneously in Santiago and Toronto; a doubled enlistment looking primarily raise financing. And that is an important element because it allows us to grow as a country from the point of view of financing of mining companies, “said Minister Solminihac.

Also, the authority said that the signing of this agreement is in line with other government initiatives to advance in financing mining and exploration, and the draft submitted to Congress that extends the bag of agricultural commodities exchange to produce a bag of products in general, which opens the possibility to also include mining products.
